Hiding under the Couch!

The first day we got Poofy he was so small that he could fit under the couch, and that he did.  He refused to come out and we had to literally lift up the couch in order to retrieve him.

It took a good 2 to 4 weeks before we noticed that he started to sleep in my closet.  He loved to sleep in my clothes so that he could "smell" me all the time.

I've never even seen a dog do that.  Dogs will sit at the window and pine after you, but a cat will never make you feel that bad to leave him at home.  In fact when Poofy knows that we are about to leave him at home, he'll start to busy himself with other things.  He pretends to be busy eating or he starts to intently chase after a paper ball, which is his favorite thing to do these days.

More about Paper Balls and other fun things that Poofy likes to play with.... in the next article.  :)
In the picture above he's looking at his new found paperball!
